The thymus gland is a point upon the body where a large proportion of the meridians can be reached both directly and indirectly. It’s located in the upper part of the chest. It is made of two lobes that join in front of the trachea. The thymus is an important part of children’s immune systems. It grows larger until puberty and then begins to shrink.  It produces:

·      thymosins, which are hormones that stimulate the development of antibodies

·      T-lymphocytes which are white blood cells that fight infections and destroy abnormal cells.

These white blood cells are the body’s immune system and protect the body by producing antibodies that stop the invasion of foreign agents, bacteria and viruses. These cells also ensure the proper functioning of the body system and look after the wear and tear of the organs. Another function of thymus gland is to prevent the abnormal growth of cells, that may lead to cancer.

PK_Heart_VFrom an EFT point of view, tapping the thymus helps improve immune function and it also helps in the alleviation of stress (a big immune system depressor). Tapping the thymus area first thing in the morning to kick-start your immune system is a great habit to get into

According to Renee Brodie, “Our immune system functions more effectively when we are happy and creative, and affects every cell in our body when its energy flow is harmonious. When we feel out-of-sorts, unwell, the cells of the immune system do not “ring true”, and this will affect every part of us. We see now how important the Thymus chakra is to our well-being.

The thymus gland itself is the control organ for the entire immune system. Not just the physical immune system but also the emotional immune system. When this organ works fully, your natural resistance to viral and bacterial invasion as well as to emotional discharges from others will be at it’s highest.
