Today we celebrate summer solstice here in the southern hemisphere, which also marks the longest day of the year. Happy Solstice Beloved!!
I wish for you so much love, abundance and many great blessings for the coming new year. Traditionally this marks the official start of summer, but I’ve been feeling the heat for some time now.
There’s a little rock pool here at Bronte beach where I live that the locals refer to as the bogey hole. On super hot mornings I’m often there floating on my back as I look at the rising sun while reflecting on what I need to do for the day.
It’s always a sacred time for me that feels equal parts decadent and equal parts humbling as I look up at the sky in wonder while I take a few precious moments to ask for guidance for the clients I’ll be seeing on that day, as well as for my own personal transitions.
Traditionally, the bogey hole was a birthing pool for Aboriginal women and in the last 6 years that I’ve lived here, it’s been a powerful portal for my own projects to birth, along with my prayers for those I cherish in my life.
I was reflecting on what I’d written in my journal this time last year, and couldn’t help but reminisce on the calendar year that is passing. Although the end of last year held its fair share of magic, this year ends on an even lighter note for me which feels very sweet.
In addition to my usual rituals, I’ll be celebrating by officiating my final wedding ceremony for the year with a beautiful couple who have happily welcomed a bun in the oven that will be sticking out front and centre during the celebrations.
This wonderful year would not have been possible without your connections, feedback, support and engagement for my little community, and for that I want to thank you, and to let you know how incredibly grateful I am for your continued alliance.
My continued wish for you is that you feel supported in the all the spaces you traverse and that you honour your uniqueness in a way that celebrates all your quirks and idiosyncrasies.
May the end of this year merge with a spectacular start to next year, and I hope to catch up with you either during my retreat, or at another junction in one of our shared journeys.
Lots of love,
Patty Kikos
